HAPPY BANDCAMP FRIDAY! My gift to you, absolutely free.
The new mix and remaster of 'Summer's Here', featuring an intro called 'Summer's Herald'. From the debut album 'Murmuration'
The song deals with moving away from the city you love most in the world, in this case Dublin, and missing the things that can't be replaced, like that dawning of summer by Dublin's busy canals, and how people tend to give themselves to the night without restrictions. It's a melancholic song but with a fond, nostalgic heart. I suppose it feels all the more melancholic now with the enforced restrictions we are all under today.
May 'Summer's Herald/Summer's Here' allow us all to revel in those times we have shared in the past, and look forward to it once more when all of this is over."
If you like it, think about pre-ordering the album.
lyrics
Sun is shining down,
The weather is great in Dublin,
Everyone's on the canal,
Drinking cans, bottles and wine,
Yeah they're having the time,
Of their lives,
As I cycle by, they cry
Summer's Here,
Summer's Here.
You won't but you might,
Consider it contrite,
You could be inside,
Paying six euro for a pint,
But you're out gathering light,
Under bright night skies,
As I shuffle by, and you cry
Summer's Here,
Summer's Here,
Ooooh oooh oooh ooh
